    Duration: 2 Days

    Time: 10am to 4pm

    Class Date:  Monday 28th - Tuesday 29th October 2024

Venue: The Fashion Loop Studio (Castle Road – details upon registration)

Our 2-day children's sewing workshops cater to ages 9-14, offering an engaging opportunity for budding fashion enthusiasts to learn the art of sewing.

Led by an experienced fashion designer, this workshop provides an exciting opportunity for youngsters to develop fashion garment-making skills and create their own simple wearable piece.

During the workshop, the students will receive comprehensive demos and instruction on essential sewing techniques, including:

    • Learning to set up, thread, and operate a sewing machine.
    • Mastering basic seams essential for garment making.
    • Overlocking for tidy edges and hem stitches.

    Key Features:

Small Class Size: With a maximum of 6 children per workshop, each student receives personalised attention, demonstrations, and support.

Individual Workstations, Materials & Equipment: To enhance the learning experience, each child is provided with their own Janome Sewing Machine, workstation, and haberdashery enabling independence and focused learning.

Industry-Relevant Techniques: Our curriculum emphasises techniques directly used in the fashion industry, ensuring a robust skill set for young learners.

Bring Your Own Machine: We encourage parents to bring their child's sewing machine, enabling continuous practice at home. This not only reinforces the new skills but also enhances the overall learning journey. If you are unsure which machine to buy, please let us know, and we can help you.

At The Fashion Loop, we prioritise building confidence and technical understanding, which enables children to embark on creative projects of their own and advance to complex garment construction with regular attendance at our workshops.

The primary instructor for this course is Jay, who has extensive experience teaching fashion design and sewing to both children and adults. Her label was featured at London Fashion Week and distributed to prestigious boutiques throughout London and the UK.
